What I worked on

Why was this game created
This game is built for our game level design class, the lecturer requested us to make a game with strong gameplay and strong environmental story telling (mise en scene). In 4 weeks, we are required to finish the level and present

What is this game
The player plays as the girlfriend’s boyfriend, so player will have to enter the house and try to find out where is the player girlfriend, so after entering the house, the player will discover a note which will hint the player on what to do next. After getting the crowbar to unlock the room, player will find another note which again hint on what to do next, after finding the theatre key, player will have to go to the theatre to find the parent’s bedroom key. Once in the parent’s bedroom, the player will have to locate a button which will open a door which leads to a cave. After in the cave, by completing the wooden planks obstacle, player will reach to the end of the level which is a cult room and finds his girlfriend have already been burned alive. There is a bunch of jumpscare in the level which will bring fear in the player and a bunch of audio related scare. There are also the notes which helps the player to navigate and understands the current situation. The environment sound such as raining, and footsteps makes the player feel immersed in the level. Player will also have to practise by learning how the level is built and also which room they have explored and which room have an item to be collected.

Why is it design this way
I wanted it to look like a regular house but at the same time, something is not right. There are broken object and blood around the house. There is also the ghost which scares the player. So player would feel like they are actually exploring a house that is being haunted by ghost. Then there is the cave which is pitch black and the player will have to rely on their flashlight to explore. Then once they reach the cult room, it looks creepy with the burning body and skulls and blood around. So it really feels like a creepy game
